We Run Tings!...

On Chicago's Southside, three men stand at a paint table cranking out the day's order- 175 supermarket signs in the city's signature colors: Red, blue, and yellow. Regardless of the painter, each sign is identical in lettering; This can beattributed to a decade of apprenticing under Robert Petrizo, creator of the one of a kind block supermarket type. Despite an overrun in technology and its cheaper and quicker ways, these hand-painted butcher paper signs can still be seen exclusively throughout Chicago's neighborhoods.

We sought out these sign painters to create two pieces that are representative of our crew, city, and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Below is the first, which pays homage to a detail that is present in all 29 neighborhoods along Chicago's 26.2 mile route- The SUPERMARKET SIGN.

Shirt and one of a kind hand-painted sign will be available for pre-order on 8/7. ‪#‎3RUN2‬ ‪#‎CHICAGORUNNING‬
